Source.zip Contains the entire Source Code for Publech Content 7.0 including a solution file to open the project in Visual Studio. These are the files you need if you want the checkout the source code of the product.

There are some content/data in the database that are in Swedish. We will soon release a script to translate this into English. But if you are in a hurry there are a syscode or type column in these tables that are in English.

The default login is (id 1)

Usename: admin
Password: password

The users are in the clients table.

There are 2 userer you should not remove from the clients table

id 2 "borttagen användare" (removed user you can change the name)
-This is a special user that is used when a user is removed. There are some tables that needs to keep data made by the removed user. Then for the table relations to work we update these tables so the user is the removed user client (nr 2).

id 3 Default
- When using AD this client settings is copied when a new user is logging in for the first time

The Anonymous user for the external web site (id 54). I you check global.asax in the external web site you will find some login information. There must be a client in the clients table matching this information. So if you change it then change the info in the table

How to enter the Admin site? I search in database and I don't find the account for administrator (I don't use AD on my web server). Where I can find the default admin/passowrd?

There are three main key objects Client, Category and Article.

is the main object for handling users of Publech.

Installing a website is pretty straight forward by just coping files onto a web server and configure a new site in IIS.

We will not make a MSI package if this is not highly requested.
We have used MSI packages for Publech in previous versions and these are some reasons for not using MSI.

It doesn't make it easier than in IIS
Most Server Administrators want to have control over the settings in IIS and don't want a installer changing these settings automatically.
If you use web hosting you probably can't run a MSI package on their servers.

What we probably will do is to make a startup mode in the website so that when you run the site for the first time you get a wizard for setting some configurations and creating the database by script and not by a backup like today.

In this way the Server Administrator / or Web hosting user have control of the creation of the website and the application specific settings is done in the application.

You must create or change themes. This is done by a webdesigner who can make new images and edit stylesheets.
The created themes can then be selected by users.

Next version of Publech Content will be using FileStreme and some other new datatypes and therefore only be available on 2008

The installation describes changing config variables under the ASP.net tab in IIS.
This might remove all comments for every appsetting key in the web.config file and making it hard to understand.
Therefore it might be better to change these settings directly in the web.config file an not by IIS.

You can edit the default theme or you can create one or more new themes.
Themeable folders are
_css
Stylesheet folder
_img
Image folder

Under these folders you find folders named _default and _hicon these are the theme folders where _default is the default theme and _hicon is a high contrast theme.

To change the default theme simply just change images and stylesheets in the two _default folders.

To create a new selectable theme copy the two _default folders and change them to a new name ex _mytheme (the folders must have the same name).
Edit the images and stylesheets in your theme folder.
When you are done open the this file adminroot/_webspecific/installedThemes.xml
Add a new theme tag
ex
<Theme>
<ThemeName>My cool publech theme</ThemeName>
<ThemeFolderName>_mytheme</ThemeFolderName>
</Theme>

Save the xml file and open Publech admin/intranet

Under user settings (icon in the top) you can select your new theme.
Select your new theme and click save button.

Now you should create a theme image by taking a screen shot and crop it nicely in a image editor (or use Copper which is a great program for this)

Resize the image to about w 145 / h 88.

Save the file as theme-thumb.gif to your _img/[themefolder]

Now you are done with making your own theme and making it selectable to other users.

If you which to change the default theme for all users who have not selected a theme under user settings you can do this in web.config
